On one visit Baba asked for Rs. 64 and told him to ask others if he did not have it. Later, when devotees collected money for Naam-Saptah and Annadaan, their total was exactly Rs. 64, revealing the meaning of Baba’s earlier words.

On a late-night journey through a forest, Nachne and Shantaram Panse travelled by bullock cart near Ranshet. The cart began rolling backwards toward a ravine, while a tiger stood ahead.

Nachne cried out to Sai Baba and Panse joined him. The tiger fled, and the cart was secured. The devotees understood the event as Baba’s protection in a moment when neither ordinary courage nor planning could ensure their safety.

What this account invites us to reflect on

The chapter links dakshina with service and shows how an apparently mysterious instruction may point toward a future act of collective devotion. The tiger episode turns remembrance into courage.

Editorial note: This page is a concise paraphrase for web presentation.
