Although frightened, his faith in Sai Baba led him to continue his daily service, including lighting the Petromax lamps in Dwarkamai.<\/p>\n<p>One evening Baba rebuked him fiercely and instructed him to sit at His feet. While pressing Baba\u2019s legs, Jyotindra experienced a terrifying vision of a goddess in a menacing form. He fainted and later awoke to Baba reviving him and offering water.<\/p>\n<p>When Jyotindra asked about the vision, Baba explained that the goddess had come for his life, but Baba had refused to allow her to take it. The experience became for him a vivid sign of Baba\u2019s protective grace.<\/p>\n<h2>Reflection<\/h2>\n<p>The account presents devotion during a time of fear and illness.
