Muslim visitors came to the Mosque, received his attention, and found that Baba observed practices associated with Islam while also permitting Hindu forms of worship around him.

Baba kept fasts, especially during the forty days of Ramzan, and gave alms. He undertook or supported the observance of Haj and other Muslim religious occasions. At the same time, he accepted Hindu devotees, allowed arati and the worship of his image, and treated these practices as compatible with the deeper unity he lived.

The accounts describe Baba’s readiness to meet people where they stood. He did not demand that a Muslim become a Hindu or that a Hindu abandon his customary devotion. His Mosque, food, charity and personal dealings brought people of different faiths into one circle of service and remembrance.

These incidents are presented as lived examples of Baba’s conduct rather than as an abstract argument: religious identity remained visible, but compassion, generosity and recognition of the one Divine presence took priority.

Editorial note: This page is a concise paraphrase for web presentation and does not reproduce the complete chapter.
