When eight mangoes were set aside for Baba, four were stolen before they could be offered. Baba gave the remaining four to Rasane\u2019s second wife and said that she would have eight children. The prediction was fulfilled, and the first two children were given the names Baba had indicated.<\/p>\n<p>Rasane\u2019s relationship with Baba also involved the Muslim devotee Daulat Shah and the family\u2019s marriage arrangements. Baba\u2019s direction was not limited to the immediate wish for children; it extended into the way Rasane was to understand his duties, relationships and service.<\/p>\n<p>When Ramanavami worship and public celebrations developed at Shirdi, Rasane helped with the standards and with support for the Masjid. The same devotee who had brought his private anxiety about children to Baba therefore became connected with the practical work of the Sai Sansthan.<\/p>\n<p>The chapter places the mango incident, the fulfilled prediction and Rasane\u2019s later service together. Baba\u2019s intervention answers a personal longing, but it also draws Rasane into a wider life of responsibility around worship and the community of devotees.<\/p>\n<h2>What this account invites us to reflect on<\/h2>\n<p>Rasane\u2019s story is carried by a sequence of identifiable events: the astrologers\u2019 verdict, the four mangoes, the birth of the children and the service offered at Shirdi.
